Huntleigh Diagnostics are delighted to have supported Mercy Ships with the provision of essential operating room patient monitoring equipment for their ship 'Africa Mercy'.
Endorsement from Tony Royston, Senior Clinical/Biomedical Engineer on the Africa Mercy:
‘ Once again Huntleigh Diagnostics have rapidly responded to our need, this time for two Smartsign MP1R Hand Held Pulse Oximeters for use in our on-board Operating Theatres. The ones originally supplied were so useful and ideal for rapid patient assessment and monitoring that they had been re-deployed for use by our screening and emergency response teams. This meant that we were without for one of the theatres that will once again be used in Benin for eye operations, and where pre and immediate post-operative SpO2 monitoring is vital for the safety and wellbeing of our patients. The rechargeable version we have been supplied with this time will be even more useful, as the medical staff will know that the units are ready for use each day, having been charged overnight. From my perspective as a Clinical Engineer, these units have proven to be very reliable, use readily obtained sensors and consumables, and are definitely fit for purpose in our unique environment. I am also pleased to be able to endorse something made by a company in the city of Cardiff, where I lived for many years .’
